Our Community members tell us that they want to work differently with us, moving away from traditional Council-led engagement.
You will form a key link between the Council and the community within one of three localities to support the delivery of a joined-up approach to community engagement. This will help us to better understand the needs of our local communities and will create a mechanism for implementing participatory budgeting. We want to move quickly to make sure we consult communities on the impact of coronavirus and the support mechanisms needed to help with Falkirk’s recovery plan.
You will hold a degree or relevant equivalent experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage competing demands. Experience of carrying out or supporting community engagement and/or development is essential. So too is experience and understanding of the application of different community engagement approaches and techniques. An understanding of the principles of participatory budgeting is essential while experience of its implementation is preferred.
