West Dunbartonshire Council are seeking to recruit a Communities Project Development Worker to support the direction and delivery of the Council’s community empowerment agenda as set out in West Dunbartonshire’s Community Empowerment Strategy. The empowerment agenda is far reaching and will include:
• Community capacity building;
• Participatory budgeting and mainstreaming;
• Alternative sources of funding to support communities
• The development of digital tools to promote and support wider debate and deliberation
• Support the Community Planning development of Locality Place Plans
As part of the Communities team within the Housing & Employability section, the Project
Development Worker will take on a community development role to support and develop individuals and groups across the authority to increase levels of participation and empower community action.
The Communities Team leads on community empowerment, community councils, participatory budgeting and capacity building. This is delivered primarily through the Your Community initiative which focuses on improving the coordination and delivery of local services and involving local residents in the design and delivery of those services.
