Salary: £42,892.83 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week (This includes one 12-hour shift, covering alternate weekends, and three 8-hour supernumerary shifts)
Location: Ledbury, Herefordshire
As the Clinical Deputy Manager, you will play a key part in the clinical coordination of the service. You will assist in leading and supervising a large team to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. This position is crucial in upholding and advancing our core values of "wellness, happiness, and kindness." You’ll also collaborate with the local community, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to support residents in living fulfilling lives.
The client is one of the UK’s leading providers in health and social care, offering a broad range of services across specialised environments, including elderly care homes, dementia units, mental health facilities, and low secure psychiatric hospitals. As the largest employee-owned company in the healthcare sector, 76% of the company is owned by its employees. This empowers staff to have a say in key decisions and helps foster a supportive, people-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Service Manager in leading staff to deliver high-quality care in a safe, supportive environment.
* Coordinate and lead the nursing team to provide person-centred care, promoting dignity, privacy, independence, and equality.
* Ensure the effective operation of the nursing units and maintain communication with external health professionals.
* Oversee infection control measures and conduct audits across the service.
* Act as a role model and provide leadership by being approachable and visible to all employees.
* Manage the nursing unit, ensuring smooth admissions and discharges, and support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
* Conduct performance reviews, appraisals, and mentorship for employees.
* Address complaints and suggestions promptly, ensuring actions are taken within set timeframes.
* Support the Service Manager in building a positive workplace culture and maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
* Provide leadership in the absence of the Service Manager, escalating concerns when necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A qualified nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
* Experience in a similar role, such as Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse.
* Expertise in elderly care and person-centred approaches.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
* Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving the wellbeing of residents
