Children’s Support Worker (New to Care) | London | £12.19 p/h (PAYE) | £13.19 p/h (Umbrella)
We are very excited to launch our “New to Care” scheme. This is a great opportunity for anybody who is looking to work within the social care sector, particularly those who have an interest in working with children and young people. This is ideal for anyone who has limited or personal experience, as well as those who may have been away from the sector for a long period.

Your new role
Hays are launching this scheme in partnership with one of our key clients. They are a children’s charity who run several Residential and Semi-Independent services across London, supporting young people with a variety of different needs.
The duties of a support worker are varied, and no two days are the same. Service users are individuals, and they all deserve to be treated as such. Getting to know them is an important part of the role, a personal approach helps contribute to their overall wellbeing & makes a difference to their quality of life. Your role might include:
Providing Care & Support can be challenging. There is huge responsibility that comes with the job, including being in charge of service users wellbeing. With this responsibility however comes reward and satisfaction of making a difference and improving someone’s quality of life.

What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally you will have some previous knowledge and experience of the social care sector, but above all we are looking for people that share the core values:
During the initial call/interview, you will need to be able to explain why you are interested in social care, and demonstrate you have the right character and values for work in the sector You must be committed to completing the full New to Care process, including the online training and 8-week placement
