Children and Young People Residential Support Worker – Llanelli – FULL TIME
Your new company
My client is a successful children’s residential setting in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, recruiting for full time support workers. With children ages to 8-18 with emotional behaviour disorder, this is a fun and active service, considered settled, and focuses on nurturing independence and mental wellbeing. It is a small home and requires consistent support workers to provide excellent care around the clock on a permanent, full time basis. Shift patterns are based on 2 days in home, and 3 days off with sleeps, and scope for overtime. The right candidate will be put through their level 3 qualification and given the opportunity after qualifying, to progress into more senior roles.

Your new role
To provide outstanding care to children while applying their individual care plans
Engage in fulfilling activities
Liaising with families and support workers to ensure the best possible independent care plans are provided and carried out
Proactive approach to education and activity to improve key skills and self confidence.
Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks.
Engage in individual’s transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider society
To make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur
Carry out general housekeeping duties, which includes elements of personal care
Apply safeguarding and protection to vulnerable individuals and ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone you support
Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations
What you’ll need to succeed
Driving Licence – essential
Experience within the care sector is desirable but not essential
QCF/ NVQ in Children and Young People or Health & Social Care is desirable
Resilience, self-motivation and the enthusiasm to engage with active young people
Excellent communication skills
Ability to navigate a challenging situation
DBS on the Update service is a bonus for swifter onboarding
