We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable practitioner to join our 12+ Team on a fixed term basis. You will be expected to provide a high quality service to young people and their families in a professional and respectful manner. You will work alongside social workers and other professionals in assessing needs/risk and planning interventions. Your caseload will consist predominantly of young people who are “looked after”; on the “edge of becoming looked after” or leaving the formal care system. The role requires a practitioner with organisational skills; initiative and a willingness to work with vulnerable and challenging young people. Relevant induction; supervision and training will be provided.
• Educated to HNC social care and SVQ Level 3 (children and young people) or equivalent with a relevant discipline.
• Experience of working with the national and local practice, policy, procedure and legislation relevant to the post. This includes an awareness of the SSSC Code of Practice, Human Rights legislation, United Nation Convention of the Rights of Child and getting it right for every child.
• Have experience of working with children and families including child development, and trauma based interventions,
• Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic interventions and methodologies, such as attachment promoting, trauma based therapy, child development and parenting capacity.
• Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of key agencies.
• Experience of delivering parenting programmes or other group work.
• Specialist experience of working with children and families in crisis or at risk.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £31,483.32 per annum.
