West Dunbartonshire Council Care at Home service provide a range of different services to support people to live at home, with a person centred approach to enable individuals to maximise their full potential and promote independence.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Care at Home Coordinator as part of the Care at Home team.
As a key member of the Care at Home management team working under the direction of the Care at Home Service Manager, you will have day-to-day management responsibility for coordinating and deploying care at home staff and liaise with clients and colleagues. You will also contribute to the strategy and development of the redesign project of the Care at Home service.
You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. In addition, you will be required to provide leadership, guidance and direction in the coordination and development of Care at Home services across all care groups including commissioned services. You will contribute to the delivery of high quality services, assist and manage allocated budget resources as appropriate. Employee, client user engagement and performance management will be a significant part of your role.
You should have relevant experience of working with clients and experience of supervising and supporting staff with an ability to develop effective team working by influencing and leading staff. You must have an awareness of and be able to promote partnership working across health and social care settings.
You must possess competent IT skills, have effective verbal, written, organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise your own workload and have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Experience of recruitment, induction, training and staff development processes along with those relating to supporting attendance, budget management, risk assessment and health and safety are desirable. You must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of clients. You will on occasions be expected to work out of office hours.
You will ideally have a qualification in management, health or social care. Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
