As a care assistant you may work under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on where you're based.
For example, in a care facility, day centre, hospital or another care environment you may:
* serve meals
* help people to move around
* make beds, tidy up, light cleaning
* make clients feel comfortable
* engage in activities such as cooking, shopping etc with the clients
* maintain daily records
* assist with personal care
* you may be working with individuals who have mental health issues, alcoholism, homelessness, challenging behaviours.
Ideally you would have experience in the health care sector and hold either a care certificate, NVQ or something similar.
You would either need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to complete one
