Locations across Edinburgh
Salary: £22,185 – £24,590 per year (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 36 per week
Full time and Part time hours available.
The posts will include non-standard working hours including evenings and weekends, plus sleepovers as required as part of a planned rota system, for which additional payments will be paid.
As a Care and Support Worker, you will be supporting adults with Learning Disabilities with all aspects of daily living to ensure a good quality of life, learn new skills and actively participate in activities within the local and wider community. We have different service areas across the city, primarily supporting people to live in their own tenancies within Housing Support and Care at Home.
We work with a wide range of people with complex needs, including behavioural support, mental health and forensic support needs. There is a prominent focus on a number of people discharging from long term hospital inpatient services into supported and shared community living. There may be individuals who require 24/7 supervision, and some may require to be supported by a male or female only team of workers.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed care staff to join our services where we are committed to supporting staff to develop the practical skills required to enable an environment providing Positive Behaviour Support. We will invest in our staff to gain the formal qualifications required for registration with SSSC (SVQ2) and provide a robust learning and development programme for ongoing personal development.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
We’re committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
