Social Policy’s Business Support Service is a new service that will provide support to all service areas across Community Care, Children & Families and Criminal Justice. The service will facilitate the delivery of a culture of continuous improvement (including learning & organisational development) and quality assurance in all aspects of business support, enabling front line social work and social care services through the provision of high quality, flexible support at all times.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Service which has principal responsibilities in and across 4 Teams; Performance and Quality, Finance and Contracting, Strategy, Policy & Change and Customer and Communities.
The post holder will report to a Business Support manager, they will manage, monitor and analyse customer complaints alongside Freedom of Information requests (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SAR) and undertake specific projects and tasks within dedicated teams and across the wider business support function to secure current and future services of West Lothian’s Health & Social Care Partnership and corporate requirements in line with overall priorities. The post holder will be based within an open plan working environment and occasional travel out with West Lothian will be required.
Ideally candidates will have knowledge of social work and social care services, be computer literate, possess excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills and have experience of strategic planning and project management. A positive and enthusiastic outlook with a ‘can do’ attitude would fit well with the Service’s ethos.
Some post holders may require Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check or registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) depending on the area of the support function they are working in prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
