An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Bus Escort based at Queens Quay Day Services located in Clydebank. This will be a permanent part time position for 18 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have individual responsibility in accordance with the practice and procedures of the local authority for attending to comfort, security and safety of passengers whilst being transported to and from appropriate establishment.
The main duties of the post will include: ensuring vehicle doors are kept closed and that no passenger boards or leaves the vehicle whilst it is in motion; uplifting and/or setting down passengers, including providing physical assistance: assisting passengers to cross the road, ensuring passengers remain seated and where necessary appropriately secured in their seats and carrying medication for service users.
You should be enthusiastic, motivated, courteous and respectful, and possess excellent communication skills. You should also enjoy working with older people.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults and/or Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
