This post is based at the Disability Resource Centre, 74 Love Street, Paisley PA3 2EA.

You will have individual responsibility in accordance with the practice and procedures of the local authority for attending to the comfort, security and safety of passengers whilst being transported to and from appropriate establishments.

The main duties of the post will include: ensuring vehicle doors are kept closed and that no passenger boards or leaves the vehicle while it is in motion; uplifting and/or setting down passengers, including providing physical assistance; assisting passengers to cross the road, ensuring passengers remain seated and where necessary are appropriately secured in their seats and carrying medications for service users.

You should have the ability to record daily care notes, be enthusiastic, motivated, courteous and respectful, and possess excellent communication skills. You should also enjoy working with older people.

You must be able to work a split shift.

It is essential that you are willing to work towards obtaining SVQ level 2 in Social Care. Possession of this qualification would be an advantage.
