This local authority is looking for an assistant team manager to join the Early Help team based in the Bluebell Centre, B37 5TN, Solihull. The main objective for this team is to intervene as early and as effectively as possible to address the issues that are preventing successful outcomes for children and young people and to decrease the number of children and families that require further specialist services.
This post is a one-year long contract that has the potential to get extended.

Your new role
As an assistant team manager for the Early Help team in Solihull MBC, your main aim will be to work with vulnerable children, young people and families to help improve the early help outcomes. You will be responsible for allocating cases as appropriate and to provide advice and guidance to colleagues. You will lead, manage and coordinate a team of staff to deliver a high-quality service that include programmes of intervention to resolve issues and improve functioning in families.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful, you will hold a professional qualification relevant to Children, Young People and Families, as well as an extensive experience of working with this population in a similar setting. You will also have experience of providing effective professional supervision and demonstrable IT experience.
You will be very committed, motivated, and well-organised, and you will be able to prioritise tasks to achieve goals and meet deadlines. Also, you will have the ability to lead, motivate support and manage a team.
In order to be considered for this role you will be a driver with access to your own car.
What you’ll get in return
You will be offered a competitive premium hourly rate of £24.66.
By working with Hays, you will have your own consultant who will support you throughout the process. You will also have access to free DBS checks and learning and development opportunities – it is a requirement for this role to obtain an Enhanced Children’s DBS check.
