SW Locums are looking to source a UK Experienced Social Worker for a locum Deputy Team Manager role in Southwark to join the Transfer of Care Team North based at St Thomas Hospital. The Deputy Team Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of social workers and their work products.
The role includes providing social work practice guidance and management oversight relating to case progression and management of – often complex – discharges, complaints and disputes, safeguarding and mental capacity.
The post holder will take an active part in networking with NHS trust colleagues and form part of the management team overseeing team performance and attending regular discharge review meetings, updating the acute trust about discharge plans and responding to system escalations as pressures on acute trusts increase.
You will need a proven track-record of multidisciplinary working/close partnership working with other local authority colleagues/GPs/NHS and a sound understanding of ordinary residence and current out-of-hospital pathways is essential for this role.
You need a good working knowledge of the Continuing Healthcare process and the relevant framework is essential for this role.
The post holder will be required to supervise 4-5 qualified social workers.
NOTE: This role requires the Deputy Team Manager to be in the office at St Thomas Hospital with frontline colleagues on average 4 days per week.
This role cannot be carried out working from home, apart from scope of approximately 1 day/week working from home for more administrative parts of the role.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England Registration and evidence of continued professional development.
* Knowledge of current and proposed legislation, policy and guidance in relation to adults, including safeguarding, mental capacity and Deprivation of Liberty.
* Knowledge of the principles of equal opportunities, anti discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice in assessment and the provision of services.
* Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) / Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) or Best Interest Assessor (BIA) or willingness to train.
* Knowledge of budget management and financial contexts of adult social care.
