An exciting opportunity is available to be part of a management team, leading care staff in Calton House.
Calton House aims to provide positive, safe & nurturing experiences for young people through ensuring nurturing care, respect, connection and wrap around education that is individualised and promotes young people’s mental and emotional well-being. Future positive outcomes are a crucial focus to supporting vulnerable young people.
Calton House is a 5 bedded house that offers young people a safe, nurturing & caring environment. We have recently undergone some changes to the living environment, and you will be joining a dedicated team focussed on making changes to improve outcomes for our young people.
The successful candidate will be involved in care planning and reviews of young people living within a residential setting. All of our young people have individual plans to meet their needs, the ATL role is to oversee and help the care team implement these plans. As such you should have relevant knowledge and understanding of residential care and an in-depth understanding of the needs of children & young people who are looked after. Furthermore a working knowledge of assessment, care planning and delivery of the appropriate support needed for this cohort.
You will lead and manage a group of residential care officers providing a service to children/young people which will include the following key functions – emergency admission, residential placements, outreach and respite and to act as responsible manager in the absence of the Team Leader and ensure safe operation of the service. The successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of management of the house. The candidate will also provide direct support to staff through personal supervision and guidance from departmental policies and legal expectations.
Prior experience in a managerial position within a social services setting is a desirable.
