The Area Housing Officer (AHO) will be responsible for the front-line delivery of the Council’s housing services.
To deliver front-line housing services in a caring; professional manner, and meet the agreed targets/service standards in relation to rent arrears; tenancy management; gas safety; improving neighbourhoods and maintaining good standards of customer care.
To profile tenants who are in arrears or at risk of rent arrears and to update records/ actions to reduce the impact both in terms of the Housing Revenue Account and for individual tenants.
To keep accurate and clear records of customer contact and ensure this information is shared with colleagues & managers as appropriate and updated on the Councils’ ICT systems timeously.
To be responsible for their own performance both individually, and as part of a team and be required to take steps to improve particular areas of performance.
To deliver quality tenancy management for Council houses; garages and garage sites.
Promote safe working practices within the housing service.
Significant previous experience of working in a housing environment.
HNC in a relevant Housing discipline.
Knowledge of housing legislation and housing management good practice.
Part qualification in housing management or evidence of advanced study, alternatively, completion of a relevant structured training course or programme in housing management.
Strong customer care focus and skills.
A genuine willingness to help people.
Flexibility.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and other computerised systems.
Ability to work under pressure.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
