Your new role
You will be completing various assessments of the needs of vulnerable individuals and their families, helping them handle everyday life problems. Depending on Your specific team, you will be responsible for different tasks such as undertaking and writing up assessments, analysing complex information, carrying out inspections, maintaining accurate records.

Children’s Advice & Duty Service (ChAD) Consultant Social Worker The Integrated Front Door to Dorset Children’s Services encompasses the Children’s Advice and Duty Service, the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Early Help Hub and the Out of Hours service (OOHS). The ChAD service is a telephone and consultation-based service for all safeguarding contacts and referrals, with the overall aim that we work with children, young people and their families, and that they receive the right service, right place, first time. We work closely with the Early Help Hub and our MASH partners, so good communication and relationship- building skills are key. There will be a requirement to cover all aspects of the Consultant Social Worker’s role within the Children’s Advice and Duty Service, this will also mean working out of hours and ensuring the Integrated Front Door is able to provide a responsive and needs-led service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. The team is formed of Consultant social workers, ChAD Early Help advisors and ChAD co-ordinators (business support). The Consultant Social Workers in the team have a 4-day working week, encompassing 4 shifts (these may be daytime and/or out of hours shifts). Within the ChAD service hybrid working is facilitated, with most team members participating in this way of working and we also support flexible working to promote a work life balance. Flexible and remote working options available, creating a healthy work-life balance Close-knit, friendly team with a strong track record in training and career development Lots of training opportunities to enhance Your practice (e.g., regular supervision, buddy support scheme, personal development plans, good peer support and reflective learning culture) Social Worker: Temp rates from £35 p/h with possibility to extend contract or switch to perm salary after 3 months.
