ADVANCED PRACTITIONER – ONGOING SUPPORT – WILTSHIRE

Wiltshire currently have two Permanent, Full-time Advanced Social Work Practitioner posts within their North (Chippenham) and West (Trowbridge) Ongoing Support service.This is a leadership role within the team, you will be expected to work closely with the Team Manager on a day-to-day basis to support the wider team.
Your new role
As an advanced practitioner you will lead with social work practice development and quality assurance within the team. You will be expected to provide supervision to members of the Social Work staff in the main but other non-qualified staff as required. You will be required to manage a small complex caseload when required and have experience in undertaking Care Act Assessments.You will need to have a good understanding/experience/knowledge around Safeguarding Adults. An ability to work in partnership with Health colleagues, this will include undertaking processes as per appropriate Legislation and Wiltshire Council Policies/Guidelines.A confident and can-do attitude would be desirable. You will have responsibility for overseeing waiting lists and allocation referrals, undertaking risk assessment and prioritising to ensure customers’ needs are met in a timely manner.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have 2 years post qualification experience in a social care setting and have extensive professional development since qualifying and be qualified to a DipSW level or equivalent and registered as a social worker with Social Work England. In depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential and you will have experience in this area, as well as supporting others to apply the principles of the Act. Knowledge and experience of Continuing health Care is valuable. A confident and can-do attitude would be desirable.
