You will be working for a local authority that is looking to welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists who are enthusiastic in contributing to the culture of the organisation with new talent.

Your new role
You will engage with individuals, children, families, groups and communities to assess, intervene and use Your professional judgement to employ a range of interventions promoting choice, control and independence. You will promote wellbeing and independence by completing complex occupational assessments, proportionate support plans and by using specialist equipment, adaptations, skills gain and risk management programs. You will be expected and supported as a newly qualified occupational therapist to participate in a Preceptorship programme. You will receive the assistance for your professional development during the Preceptorship, which will run for at least a year.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Relevant professional qualification and registration
• Up to date knowledge of relevant policies in relation to social care processes
• An understanding of diversity and how it affects practice
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to co-operate and work well with others, support colleagues both within and outside of the team and contribute to the successful achievement of team goals, sharing information and learning whilst supporting others
• Competent in the use of basic IT skills
