This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a dynamic full time permanent Social Worker to work in the Adults Community Team based in Southend-on-Sea.

Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available, however a flexible approach is needed as you will be required to be on site and to travel around the city.

In this position, you will be required to support citizens across Southend-on-Sea (including out-of-city cases) with the aim to offer the appropriate support in the right place at the right time. You will need to understand individual’s strengths, assets and wishes to maximise their potential for independence, recognising the importance of assuming that the individual is best placed to know their own outcomes, goals and wellbeing. Undertake assessments and support individuals to develop personalised care plans that take account of community assets, informal networks, universal services and other support and provision which reduces dependency.
Work with health and social care colleagues and other partners by engaging in innovative practice and a visionary approach to creating a better Southend.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful on this position you need to have a social work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England.
Previous experience of working within the adults sector is essential for this job as is the ability to write up assessments and make judgements quickly and effectively. It is essential that you possess a good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and you will be required to have sound knowledge of the SET Procedures for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and assessment and investigation skills. You must have also completed your ASYE.
