The Community Addictions Service (CAS) is an integrated addictions service that has been developed through a partnership between West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian NHS and is part of the wider West Lothian Addictions Care partnership (ACP). The team combines health models of treatment with social work models of support. The post holder will work as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of Addiction Workers, Social Workers, Community Psychiatric Nurses, O.T., Psychology and medical staff to provide a service to individuals experiencing problematic alcohol and/or drug use.
The post holder will also work in partnership with HCBS Housing Need Services and they will contribute to the provision of a range of flexible interventions to meet the needs of individuals/households with alcohol and/or drug problems threatened by homelessness & during the transition from temporary accommodation, emergency accommodation, leaving care or custody

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
