As part of the Intensive Services Team in Bonnyton House you will be responsible for ensuring that a wide range of activities are available to interest and stimulate the physical, psychological, social and recreational needs of the residents. You will be responsible for planning and organizing both individual and group activities in consultation with the residents, staff and relatives. As part of your role you must also ensure that individual activity care plans are maintained and that they are tailored to meet individual needs through an outcome focused assessment You will also be working part of your week within Day Opportunities in the community
You must have experience of working with older people and have experience and knowledge of supporting people with Dementia. You must have excellent communication skills, be a good team worker and be able to use your initiative. You must also have a caring nature and be enthusiastic, reliable and flexible.
A formal qualification is required for this post; you must have a SVQ 2 in Social Care or its equivalent. You will be required to undertake any training necessary for the role. As such you must demonstrate your willingness to learn and develop.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must complete registration within the first 6 months of employment).
