Webwatch – Health and Social Care Research and Development

The Health and Social Care Research and Development (HSC R&D) Division of the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland have announced announce the launch of their new website at www.research.hscni.net

The work of the HSC R&D Division is based on the principle that the best health and social care must be underpinned by knowledge and well-conducted research which can then be applied to the delivery of care.

The main focus of the website is to provide information on the funding opportunities and infrastructure that is available in Northern Ireland to enable health and social care research. The Division will also use this new site to promote research-related events and important news stories that will be relevant to a wide range of researchers and users of research.

In addition, they intend to use the website to provide researchers based in Northern Ireland with the latest, most relevant information on current research practice and the research environment within the HSC.

The website will also support those in HSC Trusts or other bodies who use the outputs from research findings.

It is becoming increasingly important for HSC R&D to work alongside the life-sciences industry and this new site will enable more effective communication with industry wishing to engage in research with HSC in Northern Ireland.

The website will also ensure relevant information is provided on a regular basis to service users, carers and members of the public who might like to become involved in research.
