Report: Scottish Care supplementary report on recruitment challenges
Scottish Care has published a Supplementary Report to their research report on recruitment and retention, ‘In the Front Line’, which was published in June 2015.
This Supplementary Report builds on the work of the initial report and examines in greater depth the recruitment challenges within the care home and care at home/housing support sector relating to the use of agencies and difficulties around nursing recruitment. This latest research was conducted over a short period in July 2015.
Both reports are contributing to work which has is being undertaken by the Scottish Government to address these challenges in both the short and medium term, and in which Scottish Care is fully involved.
It is hoped both reports will help to facilitate a collaborative response to what remains for providers a major challenge to the provision of social care and for those who use social care support services, a major threat to the quality of that support.
