Resources: SCIE – New prevention service examples

SCIE’s Prevention Library aims to help inform commissioners and service providers to find information and examples of emerging research and practice in the provision of prevention services across England.

New to Prevention Library are the following case examples:

  • Case study: Nottinghamshire Micro-enterprise Project
In partnership with Community Catalysts CIC, Nottinghamshire County Council supports micro-enterprises to grow in order to provide choice, diversity and more personalised care to local residents.
  • Case study: Living well
The NHS Kernow/Age UK Cornwall & Scilly Isles Living Well programme aims to help people to build self-confidence and self-reliance by providing practical support, navigation and coordination to those most at risk of increased dependency and hospitalisation.
  • Case study: Proactive Primary Care
Lewisham CCG’s programme of motivational telephone interviewing to support people with long term conditions to improve their health behaviours and get involved with their local community.

SCIE is looking for more service examples for the Prevention Library. If you are interested in sharing details of service provision in your area, please contact them here. If you have any questions on prevention you want to ask or learnings to share, then get involved with the new Prevention Library Forum.
