Call for papers: Recovery in addictions policy and practice

A special issue of Drugs and Alcohol Today hopes to critically examine international developments in addiction recovery policy and practice.

This edition welcomes literature reviews and empirical research using qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods in any area of addiction.

You are encouraged to contribute manuscripts that critically discuss the implications of their findings for the ongoing development of addiction recovery policy and practice.

Also, submissions that address the following topics are welcomed:

  • National and international recovery agenda and policy development
  • Innovations, interventions and developments in recovery, including best practice examples
  • Service user-led recovery
  • Recovery discourse; experiences and meanings of recovery
  • Recovery amongst different groups and populations (e.g. women, homeless people, poly-substance users)
  • Role of recovery in criminal justice systems
  • Building and sustaining recovery
  • The use and development of methodologies for researching recovery
