New programme aims to help social care managers step up to senior leadership

Bookings are open for Skills for Care’s new Inspire leadership development programme giving adult social care managers the right tools, confidence and guidance to help them move up to their next senior management role.

The leadership programme consists of a series of four one-day practical and interactive workshops, with managers being able to choose between programmes in either London, from 28 February 2018 or Manchester, from 12 March 2018.

The Inspire programme gives care leaders and managers the opportunity to explore leading-edge thinking and to network with other managers in similar roles. Managers will develop the knowledge, skills and the confidence required to lead effectively at a senior level in the ever-evolving social care and health sectors.

Skills for Care CEO Sharon Allen said: “Adult social care needs to support the career development of knowledgeable and confident leaders who can manage the many challenges we face.

“Recruiting and retaining good senior leaders can be an issue, so developing and promoting experienced care managers from within is absolutely key to ensuring high-quality care across our services.

“Our Inspire programme offers a challenging, comprehensive package of support and development that will enable the next generation of leaders to confidently progress to the next level.”
