Neglect probe at Dolgellau care home

THE OWNERS of a Dolgellau care home refused to confirm this week that five members of staff have been suspended following a damning inspection.

An investigation into Cerrig Camu care home for young adults with learning disabilities was carried out by Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CCSWI), following a complaint from a member of the public about alleged neglect of a resident.

The investigation has produced a damning report by authorities on the care received by vulnerable residents of Cerrig Camu. The report highlights several serious issues at the home. One case highlighted in the report was of a resident who couldn’t sleep properly because he didn’t have curtains or blinds, and he was forced to cover the window with bin bags and tape. Two bedrooms were completely empty apart from mattresses.
