Mynydd Isa care home plans refused

A PLANNING application to build a 45-bedroomed nursing home in Mynydd Isa has been refused.

Councillors agreed with planning officers’ recommendations to refuse permission for the proposed development on land to the rear of Mold Road. Two existing residential properties would also have been converted into staff facilities and offices.

Social services questioned the viability of the plans, as there are significant vacancies in other Flintshire care homes and raised concerns about staff facilities separate to the main care home.

Cllr Hilary McGuill thought the development had limited parking and would have a detrimental impact on existing properties.
