Swansea Care Home In line For Big Revamp

A Care home in Swansea has changed hands and is in line for a revamp.Bristol-based Kaippans Care Group has received £1.85 million from the Royal Bank of Scotland to clinch the deal for the Old Vicarage Care Home in Sketty.

The property includes planning permission to extend the building, with 16 new bedrooms as well as a full modernisation of existing bedrooms, lounge, dining areas and kitchen.

The extension will create a number of new job opportunities at the home.

Soy Sebastian, chief executive of the Kaippans Care Group, said: “I am delighted to have acquired my seventh care home and look forward to upgrading the facilities which will improve the lives and environments of the Old Vicarage residents and community of Sketty.”

Ben Hartley, consultant surveyor with GVA Grimley, said: “The Old Vicarage is a superb care home with an excellent reputation in the area.

“Following a discreet marketing campaign, limited to a select number of operators seeking high-quality homes with development potential, the home received interest from local, regional and national operators.”
