Young Film-Makers Show Consequences Of Drinking And Anti-Social Behaviour

A film made by teenagers in Wales will be used in schools to warn against the dangers of drinking and anti-social behaviour. The film, Consequences, was acted and produced by young people from Neath and Ystalyfera and is set in and around Neath Port Talbot.

The project was carried out in partnership with local police and the fire authority. Neath Port Talbot council leader Derek Vaughan said, “The film powerfully touches on many of the main temptations that young people face and looks at the dangers and possible consequences of getting involved in joyriding, drinking and anti-social behaviour. I’m confident that having seen the film, the number of local incidents will reduce.”

It is planned to use the film as part of training and awareness courses with schools, road safety, the police, fire service and youth services. The project was funded by Communities First.

A tribute at the end of the film is paid to actor and its producer Dean Clement, who died not long after filming finished.
