Another Wrexham Drug Den Is Put Out Of Action

Police last night welcomed the closure of another North Wales crackhouse. The house on Wrexham’s Caia Park estate was linked to drug use and anti-social behaviour. It is the third property to be closed down in the area in the past month.

The closure order for 100 Y Wern was granted at Wrexham magistrates’ court by district judge Andrew Shaw. It followed an application by North Wales Police supported by Wrexham County Council.

The court was shown evidence the property was associated with the supply and use of Class A drugs and anti-social behaviour.

The closures are a direct result of Operation Quantity launched at the beginning of this year. Closure orders were granted in respect of 102 Y Wern on February 22 and 108 Y Wern last week.

The properties were sealed and it is now an offence for anyone to enter.

Sgt Darren Jacks said: “We have received a lot of positive feedback from the local community. We will continue to take action against those who engage in such activity and disrupt the lives of others.”
