Social Worker Conduct Hearing

A hearing into the conduct of a registered social worker who worked in the Brigend area will be held between 14 and 16 March 2007 by a Care Council for Wales Conduct Committee. The hearing will take place from 10am at the Royal Hotel in Cardiff.

The Care Council is the social care workforce regulator in Wales. Through registration, social workers are accountable for their conduct and practice.  Action can be taken against social workers who breach the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers. Breaching the Code means a worker could be removed from the Register of Social Care Workers and stopped from working in the sector as a registered social worker.

Taking action when a registered social care worker breaches the standards set out in the Code aims to improve services for the 150,000 people who use social care services in Wales, and improve the public’s confidence in those services.

Members of the public who wish to attend to observe the hearing should contact Lois Lansdown on 029 2078 0675 or via e-mail on [email protected]
