Stonehaven care home comes under fire again

A care home that has been repeatedly told to clean up its act has been criticised by care inspectors again – after they found bottles of alcohol lying near residents.

Mowat Court Care Home in Stonehaven came under fire from the Care Inspectorate following the death of Gladys Burr, who was left in a daze by an unnecessary cocktail of pills.

In the latest report – following an unannounced inspection earlier this year – inspectors have dropped the home’s grades after discovering another catalogue of failings.

Operators Care UK said it had taken on board the recommendations.

The Mowat Court home provides residential and nursing care for more than 40 older people.
