Mobile knowledge and learning – free workshops

Following on from the launch of the UK project to develop mobile learning resources and increase the skill base in the sector to develop such resources, we are pleased to announce that IRISS (the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services) has been commissioned to run four, hands-on workshops across Scotland.

These half-day workshops are designed for people with a role or interest in designing or delivering learning. It will introduce some simple tools (RSS news feeds, social bookmarking and Twitter) for finding, organising and sharing web-based resources.

We will also look at the potential of iTunes for finding and sharing learning materials and encourage you to think about creating your own podcasts using Garageband or audioboo.

But most of all we want you to leave the course feeling stimulated and confident to try out new tools and use your own creativity to decide how they fit your own plans and strategies.

The workshops are being held on:

    13 December 2012 – Glasgow
    18 January 2013 – Edinburgh
    6 February 2013 – Stirling
    14 February 2013 – Aberdeen.

Find out more about the events and how to sign up for the workshops through IRISS’s website.
