Cash Boost For Scots Voluntary Sector Training

More than 70 organisations across Scotland will receive a share of #1.3m from the Voluntary Sector Development Fund. The cash boost will help these organisations increase the standard and variety of staff training – helping them to improve the service they offer to clients.

Deputy Education Minister Robert Brown said: “Investing in the voluntary sector helps to make sure that Scotland’s most vulnerable people receive the best possible support.

“Voluntary groups provide important services to many vulnerable people.  By training staff to the highest possible standards we help them to better meet the needs of  the most vulnerable groups and demonstrate how vital trained and highly skilled staff are to Scotland.”

“This year the majority of funding will go towards training for adult residential care workers, support workers and staff with supervisory responsibility.”
