Belfast Trust to host domestic & sexual violence awareness workshops

Belfast Trust is supporting free workshops for Voluntary & Community Groups to increase awareness about the nature and dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and abuse during February and March.

These workshops aims to provide staff and volunteers with a basic awareness of domestic and sexual violence and supportive action they can take, and equip them with a resources pack for future reference.

From April 2015 to March 2016 here in Northern Ireland the PSNI responded to 28,387 domestic abuse calls incidents, that’s one every 19 minutes. Women’s Aid’s 24 Hour Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline managed 25,935 calls.

Belfast Trust plays a key role in the Belfast Area Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse Partnership (The Partnership) that brings together organisations, groups and individuals who want to improve services and support for all victims of domestic and sexual violence and abuse.
