Nurses To Mount Dublin Protest In Pursuit Of Pay Claim

Nurses are due to continue their campaign for better pay and conditions with an hour-long protest outside the Mater Hospital in Dublin this lunchtime. The protest is part of an ongoing campaign by the Irish Nurses Organisation and the Psychiatric Nurses Association in pursuit of their demands.

Hundreds of their members have already taken part in similar demonstrations in Cork, Limerick and Galway over the past few weeks.

The Government and the HSE have refused to entertain the nurses’ pay claim and the Labour Court has ruled that they should pursue it through the benchmarking and social partnership processes.
