Irish Government Funding for Support Groups Announced

Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have recieved over 280,000 euro in funding for local groups who provide marriage, child and bereavement counselling services. It’s part of nine million euro allocated nationwide by the Department of Social Welfare. Marriage counselling accounts for 58% of this year’s funding, bereavement counselling and support 18%, child counselling 14%, and marriage preparation 10%. Donegal has recieved 159,000 euro. Accord Donegal, Aids Help North West, Donegal Travellers’ Project, Donegal Youth Service, Family Enrichment Centre and Help Care Northwest have all benefited.
