Drunk social worker struck-off register

A SOCIAL worker who guzzled alcohol during working hours has been found guilty of misconduct.

Deborah Stirling, who was employed by Staffordshire County Council between September 2003 and November 2009, drank bottles of vodka in the work car park and tried to drive while under the influence, a hearing of the General Social Care Council was told.

She had been served with an Interim Suspension Order which was due to expire in August. And following a Conduct Committee meeting of the General Social Care Council, this week she was struck-off the Social Care Registry when four of five allegations against her were found to be proved.
