New website offers homeless help in Black Country

A new website will aim to help people who are at risk of losing their homes in the Black Country. Homeless Black Country has been developed by Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton councils.

Councillor David Simms, of Dudley Council, said: “It is often prompt action and accessing the right services that is key to preventing someone from losing their home.”

The site includes a searchable directory of temporary accommodation.

The website is for residents as well professionals from sectors such as housing and social services.

Mr Simms, the council’s cabinet member for housing, said the scheme aimed to provide support for families going through a traumatic time.

“This site is another way of providing help and advice to people 24 hours a day.”
