New head of children’s services in Cambridgeshire
A new head of children’s services at Cambridgeshire County Council has been appointed. Adrian Loades succeeds Gordon Jeyes as the new executive director of children and young people’s services.
Mr Loades spent 11 years with the Audit Commission before joining Cambridgeshire County Council in 2001.
He has had various roles at the authority including two four-month secondments to the role of executive director of children’s services.
In this most recent role, Mr Loades has been responsible for school organisation and planning in the children’s services department.
Mr Loades will be responsible for all aspects of children’s education and social care across the county.
Mr Jeyes left the council on 30 June after five years in charge of children and young people’s services.
Martin Curtis, the council’s cabinet member for children, said: “In Adrian Loades we have a passionate champion for children and young people.”
