Harrow Council protecting vulnerable children following Baby P

HARROW’S child protection services are working well following the death of Baby P, a report claims.

The Harrow Council staff responsible for keeping children safe are facing an increased workload and media pressure, but are still doing a good job and co-operating with other organisations, according to officers.

The death of Baby P at the hands of his abusive mother and stepfather sparked a review by the Government of the way social services across the country protect vulnerable youngsters.

The report, due to be presented to a council committee on Tuesday, April 21, looks at recommendations made by the Government and says Harrow’s own system is working well.
