30 OAPs Moved Out Of Care Home After Safety Warning

More than 30 vulnerable patients at a care home were “evacuated” yesterday amid fears for their safety and well-being.

The elderly residents were moved out from Greenways Care Home in Colchester, Essex, after complaints about conditions and staffing levels.

The closure follows a warning by the Commission for Social Care Inspection which earlier in the year told Greenways management to improve.

A spokesman for managing body Exelcare Holdings, who took over the running of councilowned care homes in the county three years ago, admitted that concerns were being addressed and that the home’s operators had agreed to the transfer of the patients until improvements could be carried out.
