Care Home Killer Jailed For 24 Years

A murderer who killed two women in a frenzied attack as they slept in a nursing home was today jailed for a minimum of 24 years.

Nathan Mann, 20, was sentenced this morning, weeks after he pleaded guilty to killing Rashni Badiani and Radhaben Chauhan in the Hayes Park nursing home, in Rowlatts Hill, Leicester, last year.

This morning, a judge at Nottingham Crown Court jailed Mann for 24 years and three months. He had already spent 256 days in custoday.

Room-mates Mrs Badiani, 56, and 72-year-old Mrs Chauhan were discovered with what police described as ?obvious? injuries in the early hours of Wednesday, November 7.

The 20-year-old, of Avonside Drive, Crown Hills, Leicester, which is near the home, admitted murdering the two women after he broke into their ground-floor room.

Mrs Badiani had been a resident at the home since December 2004, and Mrs Chauhan had lived there since August 2007.
