Social Worker Dies After Alcohol Binge

A social worker died after downing EIGHT bottles of wine. An inquest heard Julia Jones, 35, was “stressed out” by her job and was £150,000 in debt with partner Dale Barnett.

Mr Barnett said Julia drank “without any sort of gauge of when to give up.” When he returned to their Swindon home on January 27 2007 she was curled by their bed.

David Ridley, Wilts and Swindon assistant deputy coroner, ruled she died from alcohol toxicity. Verdict: Accident.
