Two Devon Care Homes In Adminisration

The owner of two Devon care homes has called in administrators following trading difficulties. Starlight Care Ltd, which owns the Swallowcliffe home in Seaton and the Koppers home in Kilmington, has called in Exeter corporate recovery firm Begbies Traynor.

Between them, the two homes provide accommodation for some 50 residents.

Ian Walker, of Begbies Traynor, said: “Starlight has operated the homes for the past 18 months and has built a reputation for providing excellent standards of care.

“We therefore believe there is every possibility that both homes can be sold as going concerns. In the meantime we will be working with staff to minimise disruption to residents and their families.”

The administrators are working in conjunction with GVA Grimley to find potential purchasers.
