New Arrest Over Oxfordshire Care Home Death

A second care worker has been arrested on suspicion of being responsible for the death of a disabled woman who died at a care home.

Yelena Hasselberg-Langley, 18, died in August from severe burns she suffered after being scalded by hot bath water at the private sheltered accommodation in Owens Way, Cowley.

Police yesterday arrested a man on suspicion of manslaughter. He was later released on bail.

Last Thursday,officers arrested a woman on suspicion of manslaughter.

Det Insp Simon Morton, of Oxford CID, said: “This second arrest is part of the early stages in what is likely to be a lengthy joint investigation by Thames Valley Police and the Health & Safety Executive.”
