New Social Care NVQs Launched

Awarding body ASET has just added two new NVQs to its rapidly expanding Health & Social Care Portfolio. ASET Level 2 NVQ in Support Services in Health Care and ASET Level 4 NVQ for Registered Managers (Adults) are now available for Centres.

ASET prides itself on its high standard of customer service, minimal bureaucracy, and good old fashioned value for money. The Level 2 NVQ in Support Services in Health Care is designed for most support workers within the Health sector who work under the direction and guidance of other staff.

Comprising of eight total units, four mandatory and four optional units this NVQ also enables learners to progress to many further learning opportunities including the ASET Level 2 Certificate in the Prevention and Control of Infection and the ASET Level 2 Certificate in Moving and Handling.
 
The Level 4 NVQ for Registered Managers (Adults) is suitable for those working in management and supervisory positions within Health and Social Care. An increasing number of Level 4 learners are being accepted into social work and other health and social care professions. The Qualification has core and optional units of which ten units in total must be completed to achieve this NVQ. All four units in the core set must be achieved in addition to at least one unit from each of the following four sets of optional units; Manage Activities, Manage People and other Resources, Manage Information, Manage Quality.

Both these NVQs fall under ASET’s single, low combined fee for registration, verification and certification. The level 2 NVQ is reasonably priced at £75 NVQ registration per learner and £30 per learner for individual registration plus £6 per unit as is the level 4 which is priced at just £120 for NVQ registration and £50 individual registration per learner plus £12 per unit.

These new programmes add to the already impressive health and social care portfolio offered by ASET which spans NVQs, VRQs and technical certificates. Other NVQs include, Levels 2, 3 and 4 in Health and Social Care.  

ASET VRQs which particularly complement our NVQs are: at Level 1 Certificates in Providing a Healthier School Meals Service, Drug and Substance Awareness, Introduction to Caring for Adults, Personal Safety Awareness; and Level 2 Certificates in Moving and Handling, Emergency First Aid in the Workplace, First Aid for those Caring for Children, Managing and Safe Handling of Medicines, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Dementia Care, Control of Infection and Contamination.

Over 3,000 ASET learning programmes are delivered by over 650 licensed centres including FE colleges, universities, sixth form and community colleges, LEAs, employers, government agencies, training companies and not-for-profit organisations. Any organisation that delivers training or education can apply to become an ASET Licensed Centre, and then to deliver ASET programmes.
