Updated Resource To Help ‘Make It Happen’ For Integrated Working

The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has announced that a newly updated version of the ‘Making it Happen – Working together for children, young, people and families’ booklet is now available.

The booklet provides clear and practical explanations of how integrated working is already helping to ensure that children and young people receive the best possible service. It focuses on the importance of communication and good information sharing practices, the Common Assessment Framework and the role of the lead professional.

The booklet also includes practitioner case studies to illustrate how new tools and processes have made a real difference both to those on the frontline and the children and young people they work with.

Previously produced by the DfES as part of the Every Child Matters programme, the revised version was developed in conjunction with CWDC, who now have responsibility for the resource.  Copies can be ordered free by calling 0845 60 222 60, or can be downloaded.

Jane Haywood, Chief Executive of CWDC, comments: “More than four million people across all sectors work with our children and young people and children often deal with a range of different practitioners and agencies. Integrated working and successful communication is key to ensuring that they receive a service that meets their needs.

“CWDC is pleased to be making this updated resource available which illustrates different aspects of integrated working and provides an insight into how this method of working together is happening in practice. This is a really useful resource, and we would encourage practitioners to order themselves a copy so that they can learn more about how this will change the way they work.”
